Civitan Services Denim and Diamonds 2017

Civitan Services Presents Denim and Diamonds 2017

Civitan Services – a Saline County organization dedicated to providing services for Men, Women, and Children in Arkansas with Developmental Disabilities – had the privilege of being the first to hold an event at the beautifully refurbished Hill Barn Event Center in Bryant, Arkansas.

This nearly 70-year-old barn, built by hand by Ralph Hill in 1949, provided the perfect backdrop for a one of a kind, kick up your heels and relax style fundraiser presented by Civitan Services.  One of only four yearly fundraisers for Civitan Services, this was the inaugural Denim and Diamonds event and a night that will certainly be remembered.

More than 150 guests attended Denim and Diamonds 2017, which featured live music from the Just Sayin’ band (, BBQ spread catered by Gina’s Catering (, a Silent Auction, and one of a kind Jewelry Pull – sponsored by Baker’s Fine Jewelry (

Round tables adorned with white linens and re-purposed blue jeans, reclaimed wood rounds, and floating candles held by glass canister vases embellished with denim ribbon and rhinestones filled the main space of the barn and surrounded the band stage area. Each of the tables in the four corners of the room were accented with live floral arrangements provided by Flowers and Home of Bryant ( including sunflowers, hydrangeas, roses, and an assortment of other beautiful plantation-esque blooms atop tall golden vases.  Several more tables spilled out through the beautiful barn doors into a grassy area which included a tented area which displayed the Jewelry Pull and registration area.

Just past the seating area, down the long hallway, was a smorgasbord of southern dining favorites – Smoked Sliced Chicken, Smoked Pulled Pork, Smoked Sausage, Baked Beans, Baked Potato Casserole, and assorted side items.  Dessert included Banana Pudding, Chocolate Lasagna, and Strawberry Shortcake Shooters – and of course the quintessential southern drinks – Sweet Tea, Raspberry Lemonade, and Water.

The hallway ended in a beautiful Silent Auction which included items such as a Guitar autographed by Justin Moore, two adult bicycles, spa packages, a Caribbean vacation, and more!

Guests to this event were able to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a laid back, boot stomping, good time while raising funds to benefit those in our area with developmental disabilities – this truly was a “barn raising” event!
